Spells & Oregano

I picked up this book and read the first chapter and that was it!  I was hooked!  I could not put it down!  And what a roller coaster ride it was!  The story begins with Sarita who has been dealing with the aftermath of the events in Book One of The Secret Spice Trilogy, Cooking for Ghosts by Patricia V. Davis.  But then it takes us on a wild adventure that is fresh and vivid, where secrets, past, and present entwine in a tale that is magical and vaporous – yet solid, tactile, and real.  Plus, the Queen herself makes an entrance in the story, I’m speaking of the RMS Queen Mary of course.  I’m a fan.  I. Can. Not. Wait. until the third book comes out!  If you love good writing, complex characters, and an original story line, you’ll love this book!

As an added bonus, check out this trailer!  It is a work of art in itself!  I love seeing images from the RMS Queen Mary in the trailer and reading them in the book.  Since I visited the ship in Long Beach this summer, and that makes reading this book even more fun!

Plus – there is also a Reader’s Guide on the website that is perfect for book clubs!

I love this book, in fact I love everything I’ve ever read by Patricia V. Davis and I know you will also.Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcakes
